And the WINNER is.......

Last night, we had the pleasure of hearing our two Vice-Presidential candidates debate issues on TV. Governor Sarah Palin answered questions provided by the moderator of the debate in a straightforward manner, sometimes changing the topic, but always speaking (well, almost always) her mind and stating her position. Senator Joe Biden also answered questions provided by the moderator of the debate, but Joe took a little different tack - instead of answering straight forward, he decided to use the type of political rhetoric that all of us in America seem to have accepted as the "right way to politic". He answered more than 75% of his questions by attacking Senator John McCain's campaign, and Governor Palin's candidacy.
It was interesting to watch. It was also quite humerous, IF you are a person who really understands how we got into this shithole of a situation America is now in - financially and economically speaking. You see, the Democracks are blaming everything on George W. Bush, current POTUS. And that's a lot like saying that FDR handled the Great Wall Street Crash of 1927 by going on TV and telling Americans everything was alright -- which is also what Joe Biden did on the Katie Couric communist power hour show the other night -- almost true, except the crash occurred in October 1929, Herbert Hoover was the POTUS at the time, and TV was still more than 15 years away from most households in the US. Even 12 years later, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor (Dec. 7, 1941, a Day that that will "Live in Infamy", although most Americans seemed to have pretty much forgotten it!) Americans had to listen to the real President FDR ask Congress for war against Japan on them old-fashioned tube-based Radios - remember them?
You see, we really don't care if a candidate for President is able to handle the job - hell, we've proved that in the past 5 or 6 elections -- and we don't really "elect" the President, because we have not had a President in the past 5 or 6 elections actually elected by the Popular Vote - that would be democratic, and we are not a democracy, we are a democratic Republic - which means that a bunch of OTHER elected officials elect our other officials -- kind of a good ole boy club, you see. (Sidebar -- I am pretty sure if you are reading this you have heard of "superdelegates", or people at the RNC and DNC who help elect, oops, nominate the candidate -- but are you aware that our Constitution prevents any seated U. S. Congressman from being a Presidential College elector? Yep, its true - Article 2, Section 1, second paragraph, final statement.)
So, as I was saying, nobody really cares that the POTUS, if he does not have a Congress willing to stand behind him, can really do too much in the way of change. Oh crap - I used the "C" word! Shame on me. Presidents can not create bills in congress, congress has to do that. Presidents can not make a law a law, without a bill first. Presidents can not affect the budget of the U.S., they can only create their best shot at it, then they have to give it to Congress to approve, which they seldom do without adding their own mega-ton or two of pork fat! Presidents can not declare war, they have to ask Congress for approval - and yes, congress did approve this current war we are in. So really, what can the POTUS do? Well, he/she (it's going to happen - just wait and see), can veto a bill and prevent it from becoming a law, unless Congress has a 2/3 vote of approval over the veto, and then the bill becomes a law after all. Our Constitution starts with Section 1, which gives "all legislative powers" to the Congress.
The POTUS is, by Constitutional appointment, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and the Navy and of the state's militia, and he can grant reprieves and pardons to criminals, except those being impeached. He can make treaties, if the Senate approves of them. And, he can nominate ambassadors, judges, and other people who must be approved by the Senate. Oh, and annually, he can address the Congress and tell them what "without portfolio" if you will.
So how the hell did we get into this economic shitpot we are in? Congress! Plain and simple.
So, who was the winner of last night's VP debate?
Guess we will have to wait four years to see. Because the media has already elected B. Hussein Obama. The media has been announcing Obama as the President-elect since the DNC finished its floor show of nominating him. That was a done-deal too, before B. Hussein Obama even took the stage, on the night he was not supposed to, Joe Biden's night. The Messiah had to come onstage and give his "yes" man a hug, show him he was not upset about that "articulate, bright, clean" racist statement Slugging Joe made a few months before about his future Boss.
So, when B. Hussein Obama becomes POTUS, that will make Joe Biden President of the Senate, and Ms. Nancy Pelosi (the wicked witch of the west) shall be Speaker of the House -- Do I sense here a new "Axis of Evil?" I think the U. S. is in for a mighty rough four years.
